How to find the best Amazon deals

Amazon's homepage "deal" section is mostly noise — sponsored placements + items at MSRP labeled as discounts. The real Amazon savings live in three predictable places.

1. Prime Day + Big Spring Sale

Two annual Amazon-flagship events: Prime Day (mid-July, two days) and Big Spring Sale (late March, ~5 days). Both have Prime-Day-grade pricing on a curated 200-300 SKU set. The deals outside those windows are rarely as deep.

2. Lightning Deals + Today's Deals

Lightning Deals (limited-time, time-boxed) hide on the /todaysdeals page. Best discounts are at the start of the day (5am ET) before they sell out. Set an alert for specific products via Amazon's app — you'll catch the drop before it sells through.

3. CamelCamelCamel for price history

Every Amazon product has a price-history graph at camelcamelcamel.com. If today's "deal" matches the 90-day low, it's real; if today's "deal" is above the 90-day average, it's theater. Free, no sign-up, works on every ASIN.
